NYE Eats with Schweid & Sons
Out with the old, and in with a new year! But first, what’s on the menu for your New Year’s Eve celebration? NYE is all about the finger foods (and whatever pairs well with bubbly at midnight!). If you’re wondering what to make for a New Year’s Eve party – don’t worry – we’ve got some great suggestions.
Meatballs with a twist
Grape jelly meatballs anyone? The combination of meat and sweet might sound strange, but we swear it’s easy, and delicious. Cook meatballs like you would normally and then add them to a slow cooker along with ketchup and grape jelly. Cook on low for about 3-4 hours, place toothpicks nearby and you’ve got a crowd pleaser on your hands. Try our Butchers Blend 1 lb Brick as the base for great meatballs.
Multi layer dip
How does layers of refried beans, seasoned taco meat, tomatoes, jalapeños, black olives, and lots of cheese sound? We’re drooling, and your party guests will be too. Pair this dip with your favorite tortilla chips to make serving easy.
Mini sliders
There’s no shortage of great slider recipes out there (we’ve got a few of our own here).To make preparations even easier, you can prepare these mini Burgers by the tray, so there’s plenty ready to feed the party masses. Instead of slaving over a grill all night, line a cookie sheet with a 12 or 24 pack of rolls, layer on cheese, cook your Schweid & Sons sliders according to desired temperature, add the cooked meat patty on top of the cheese, cover with the top of the roll and bake the whole tray in the oven to melt the cheese and warm everything up. Sliders can even be made ahead of time and covered and refrigerated until ready to bake.
Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes are packed full of flavor and are party prep friendly as they only take about 30 minutes to make.
