Flat Top: The Big Grill Debate

Finally, the flat top grill. While it is not a traditional grill you think of when making your Burgers, many grillers are exploring this option to get that perfect crust on the outside of a Burger.

Flat Top Grill

Flat top grills have a flat grilling surface that is similar to griddle. The difference between a flat top grill and a griddle is that the heating element is circular rather than straight. This provides a very hot surface that can cook a variety of foods at the same time.

Flat top grills effectively cook traditional grilling favorites like Burgers, hot dogs and all your favorites. In addition to these, they also provide a good surface for cooking eggs, pancakes, and even pizza! The unique heating element gives you better control over the grill’s temperature which makes it easy to evenly cook Burgers, every time. However, the downside of the flat top grill is that it will not give you the unique, smoky taste that infuses your Burger as you would with a charcoal grill.
