Artisanal craft beers are having a big moment in the US. According to the Brewer’s Association, the industry saw an overall increase in volume of 18{ac6e72b93aea1d4d9fc638073263449a51587c3353b2bb23f0a1180fb3daf6fc}. People like their beer and more and more of them are turning to micro, craft and local breweries to get it.
But it’s not just craft beer that’s seeing a growth in business. According to data from the NPD Group as reported by BurgerBusiness.com, that despite a shrinking number of overall restaurants in the US, the Burger category is seeing growth.
Is it a coincidence? We think not. If you’ve had an Chef inspired Burger creation along with an expertly made small batch beer, you know the difference. That’s why craft beer has always and will continue to be a big part of NY Burger Week; two tastes that go great together.
When it came to planning the 2015 Burger Week we needed a restaurant that could out muster the rest with their ability to create really unique Burger builds and help showcase some finely made ales and lagers.
Thankfully, we knew just the people to call.

The Food and Drinks:
The Beer Authority team took this one to the fences. Chef Louis’s Burger creations were among the craziest and most creative from all of Burger Week. He took no shorts when creating these.
They they upped their game when they invited Allagash to be the craft beer partner for the event. They make some of the finest and most creative beers in the all the land. Reps from Allagash were on hand to answer questions & taste people on additional beers outside the dinner.
Once all the Burgers had been eaten and the beers had been tasted, Matt from Joios collected everyone’s opinion data to see what were the favorites of the evening:
- Favorite Burger: The Good Ol Boy
- Favorite Beer: Allagash Monmouth Red
Thank you to Brad from BurgerWeekly. We appreciate all that he does to make NYC “Burger City.” Brad is an integral part of the Burger scene in our hometown and someone you should be following if you like to know where to find the best Burgers in NYC. Thank you to Matt from Joios. The work they do at Joios helps keep food fanatics and restaurants even more passionate about eating. High fives to Kristen and everyone from Allagash. You don’t work for the brewery. It’s clear to us that you are a part of the brewery and we appreciate the passion you bring to your industry. Also, the beer is pretty darn tootin’! Thank you to everyone at Beer Authority. Serving 240 Burgers and beers over the course of just a couple hours is no small feat. Not only was everything super delicious but the entire event was super fun.
